In search of a free and critical pedagogy, the activities of our learning community are aimed to generate a praxis of uncertainty where the members flow in a critical environment.

 

Teacher identity by the students:

 

Be the teacher who the society needs, perform with the example.

Commit oneself with the job.

Show lidership.

Link the theory with the practice.

Be prepared, always planning.

Able to adapt to the school environment.

Be positive.

Do not to be traditional

Respect to the integrality of the students.

Less competitive PE.

Able to create an harmoniously environment.

 

Finally the students wrote a personal opinion about the topic of PE Identity. An abstract of their opinions:

 

Student 1 Male

The PE identity never will be static, and the aim is to be better and able to change in depending the social context. PE teacher is open to learn new knowledges that increase his capacity to teach using new procedures and philosophies.

 

Student 2 Female

The PE techer is a leader who acts with the example, is critical and reflexive, she is committed with her job. Something important is to be tolerant, empathetic and with good mood.

 

Student 3 Male

The PE teacher is a commitment person able to reach unimaginable things. Open, creative and innovative. He must try to leave his comfort zone and never be part of stereotypes. He is a leader, guide, partner, friend, etc.

 

Student 4 Male

The PE teacher is a person who can answer the requirements of the social context, trying to promote on his students their physical, cognitive and social development. He has good and healthy habits, reflexive and with awareness of physical culture.

 

Student 5 Male

The PE teacher is innovative, flexible, happy, leader, unpredictable and updated. He has the ability to teach with new approaches and without stereotypes.

 

Student 6 Male

The PE teacher has lot of skills and abilities (intellectually, emotionally and physically). He should be intelligent and able to identify the charactetistics and needs of their students, also he is able to influece them to discover their critical thinking.He will promove the physical activity to increase the healthy of their students, always performing with the example.

 

Student 7 Male

The PE teacher is a person who changes when he learned new things. He knows how to use the physical education, isn’t about just competitive sport, is about to use the sport like a game where their students could find good values and knowledges. He never combine his private life with his job life. One immportant thing is to teach with the example and trying to help his students discover how to use the values and knowledges of physical educaton in their lifes outside of the school.
